Hi! It's nice to meet you.
Annemarthe Wijnen (1990), based in Utrecht, NL.
I've been working in the field of Information Design since 2013. After graduating from Wageningen University where I studied sports nutrition science I decided that, instead of doing a PhD, I wanted to focus on how I could tell complex stories in the here and now. And created a path for myself to get there. With companies such as Drawdown, the municipality of Utrecht, the Dutch Beer Knowledge Institute and others along the way I gathered more and more skills and knowledge about (online) communication, data analysis and design. In 2019 I started my own studio: AMW Information Design.
Currently I work for the municipality of Stichtse Vecht in The Netherlands as a graphic designer and (online) communication specialist. I create infographics, social media content, design communication campaigns and hand out wanted and unwanted advice to my colleagues about our visual branding.
This means I am available part-time to do freelance work and I cannot pick up every job that comes along.
I mainly work for social and sustainable organizations. Next to my design jobs I have worked on online business management and marketing projects for Cycling 4 Climate, Studio George and the Gebakken Peren Podcast, Wholebrands and CommonEasy.
My work is usually clean with a pop of color here and there. I like to follow form meets function, but also think about how I can convey information in more unusual ways. Currently I try to work more with natural lines and flow.
If I'm not behind my computer you can find me sipping coffee at my favorite coffee places in Utrecht and Amsterdam, on the trails, dancing Lindy Hop in a park, smearing chalk all over boulder gyms or browsing for outdoor gear and fair fashion on the couch.
